It is an excellent, well-illustrated handbook and a highly welcome addition to the literature of a very practical nature. The book is completed with a bibliography and index. Overall it provides a very useful introduction to the range of insects that can be found in farming areas .The book opens with a general introduction to entomology and includes coverage of the major insects (and mites) that cause harm to crops, livestock and humans. The important beneficial species are also included.
